Junjou Romantica Act 37[]

Misaki Takahashi feels very troubled at Marukawa Publishing because he feels that he must ask for advice about not wanting to have contact with Kyo Ijuuin due to Akihiko Usami's jealousy towards the mangaka. However, nobody seems like the right person. Ryuuichiro Isaka notices that something is off with Misaki. Usagi picks Misaki up from work and offers a dinner and hotel date but Misaki passes in favour of going to the supermarket, which also makes Usagi happy. Usagi drops Misaki off at home but leaves to avoid running into Eri Aikawa since he is missing another deadline. He notices that Misaki is upset about something but he respects his decision to take care of it himself even though he says he is there if Misaki wants to talk. Lost in his thoughts he did not even notice Kaoruko Usami on her way out. She warns him not to lose to Usagi's father. Isaka barges in and seeing Usagi was not home, he invites Misaki to open up about his troubles. Misaki talks about being uncomfortable to work with Ijuuin-sensei and Isaka deduces that Misaki and Usagi are dating and that he is "Akihiko's precious" to Misaki's horror. Once Misaki gets past the shock he explains that Ijuuin-sensei confessed and he rejected him multiple times. Since Misaki does not want to file a personal complaint, Isaka recommends that he talks to Ijuuin-sensei one more time about his own feelings. Usagi returns and is highly annoyed that Misaki opened up to Isaka instead of him. Misaki explains that he is doing all of this so he can stay with Usagi. They have sex and Misaki thinks about how he enjoys being with Usagi and if he can't get through with Ijuuin-sensei he would prefer to stay by Usagi's side. The act ends with Kaoruko delivering a mountain of taiyaki (fish shaped cakes) because she noticed that Misaki was sad the day before.

Junjou Romantica Act 38[]

The Usami-Ijuuin interview did so well that Isaka tries to bribe Usagi into doing another with the promise that he and Misaki can go on a cruise together. Misaki never agrees to this but Kaoruko is and wants to tag along. After cooking together, Kaoruko suggests that Misaki go to France with her to pursue a future in the culinary field. During work Misaki picks up a manuscript from Ijuuin-sensei and realizes that Ijuuin-sensei is unable to look him in the eyes. The mangaka formally apologizes for his advances and Misaki is relieved yet he can't help but feel sad.

The following day Kaoruko suggests that she and Misaki go to Teito Hotel where the Usami-Ijuuin interview is taking place. They find the writers and eavesdrop on their conversation from the bushes to Misaki's chagrin. Ijuuin-sensei tells Usagi that he can't give up on Misaki. Usagi tells him that he would not give Misaki up to anyone because his meeting with him was destiny. Ijuuin-sensei says that he is ready to take Misaki as soon as he is unhappy. Just as Usagi replied that it will never happen, a bug lands on Kaoruko and her ruckus reveals her and Misaki from the bushes. Seeing Kaoruko reminds Ijuuin-sensei of her words and after confirming with Misaki that he still loves his manga he said he hopes that he will work with him and he tells Misaki that he understands his feelings.

Back home Usagi is uneasy with the way that Ijuuin-sensei knows Misaki so well but Misaki is flattered. Usagi assures him that their meeting was destiny because he could never meet another person who he could love so much. They have sex and Misaki realizes that every time they do it his feelings for Usagi become deeper and he could never meet another person who he could love so much either.

The next day Usagi is ready to plan out his cruise trip that Misaki still never agreed to but Kaoruko is keen on coming along. Isaka pops in with Usagi's next work assignment and gets the cold shoulder.

Yoh Miyagi and Shinobu Takasuki have just moved in together and Miyagi is having a hard time reading Shinobu and knowing when to show affection. They have coffee and Shinobu finds Miyagi's favourite cup that he bought with his first salary but constantly re-buys on account of breaking it so often. Shinobu gets a job and ends up working late hours. One day Miyagi spots Shinobu smiling easily with a girl and thinks about how natural it looks. After Shinobu returns home Miyagi suggests that they break up but Shibobu gets upset. He shows Miyagi his purchase with his first salary — the exact same cup as Miyagi's to underline their anniversary of living together. Miyagi admits that he thought Shinobu was cheating which in turn makes Shinobu very angry and demands that Miyagi just fall in love with him even more. Miyagi then flats out and ask Shinobu if he could hold him and they embrace. They have sex and Miyagi thinks that despite the age difference, he is very much in love with Shinobu. The next morning Shinobu offers to make breakfast and to Miyagi's dismay it was once again cabbage.
